AEGEE-Praha wishes you Merry Christmas!

Dear AEGEE-Praha members and fans!

AEGEE-Praha wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

And what can you expect in the new year 2016?

Enough of eating Christmas sweets and potato salad, it’s time to get back to shape again! So we will begin with badminton and beach volleyball tournaments, ice-skating workshop, laser game or championship in table football.

At the beginning of spring we will visit AEGEE-Berlin, which is the second part of our exchange. Let’s go with us and enjoy the role of a guest this time!

Newbies and all the members who want to find out more about AEGEE or just have fun with us can participate in Local Training Course (LTC) that is going to be held in the Czech Republic.

And the most important thing of the year 2016 is the celebration of AEGEE-Praha‘s 25...

How was the conference 30 YEARS OF AEGEE?

When I found out that this celebrating conference is going to be held quite close to the place I currently study (Cologne) I immediately decided to go there. Luckily Brussels is close to Cologne, it takes only about three hours by bus. What was a bit pity is that I couldn’t participate the whole event, because I had final exam from one block seminar. So I missed Thursday and almost all from Friday. I arrived on Friday just when the dinner was served. After dinner we went to taste the best French fries in the city (tip: when you are choosing your dressing, choose Andalusia). Waiting for the French fries I got to know some new people from AEGEE Heidelberg, Udine, Talinn and the president of AEGEE-Tartu.

NWM Budapest 2014

On 4th December, few days after a cold wave which stopped the traffic all over the central Europe, I, Michal Šulai, and our beloved treasurer Karolina Jandová went to represent AEGEE-Praha at Autumn Network Meeting Budapest 2014. Right after our arrival, we were really nicely surprised that organizers were waiting for us at the bus station to accompany us to the hostel. During our way in Budapest’s metro I remembered my childhood a little bit. Ticket validating system was similar to one which had been used in Prague twenty years ago. Also the old unreconstructed soviet metro cars evoked me good old times. At the hostel located in the centre of Budapest we shared a room with our friends from AEGEE-Brno, AEGEE-Bratislava, AEGEE-Poznan, AEGEE- Debrecen and AEGEE-Dresden...

Christmas Party of AEGEE-Praha

Christmas time is over and with it also the period of Christmas parties, the most beloved and inseparable Christmas tradition. There is rarely better opportunity to meet all members, form new friendships and meet the board. That’s why we all met on December the 17th in the bar U Milé Tchýně in the center of Prague, where we celebrated for the last time in 2014 and set our mood for Christmas. But it wouldn’t be it without traditional home-baked Christmas cookies, mulled wine, toddy and ever-present great mood.

This year’s party was held in the spirit of Czech movies and the programme was set accordingly. As always we started with a toast...

One year has passed and AEGEE-Praha participated for the second time in the Czechoslovakian weekend from 21st to 23rd November in a village called Sklené in Vysočina. This event is organised on the occasion of celebrating 17th November. Representatives of Czech and Slovakian AEGEE antennae met for the purpose of partying :D, getting to know other members, sharing experience and planning cooperation between antennae. There were in total 29 participants – 12 from Brno, 11 from Praha, 4 from Plzeň and 2 from Bratislava.

We started on Friday evening by expressing our expectations about the weekend so we could evaluate them at the end to see if we had come up to expectations or not. Then we played some ice-breaking games like cracking balloons with parts of our body etc...

AEGEE-Praha celebrated birthday

Try to imagine that you are sitting in a park with a bunch of great people, the sun is warming but no burning and there is a smell of grilled meat in the air. You are sipping a beer and looking forward to a full cake. You are enjoing the relaxing atmosphere you have been looking forward for all winter. That was the celebration of the 23rd birthday of AEGEE-Praha, which took place on May 21 at the Riegrovy sady.

But first things first. When I arrived with a slight delay after six o’clock, necessary grill was burning and blankets were occupied by the first impatients. The task number one was to pick up your beer or limo, squat on the grass, breathe and look forward to the next members...

The Local Training Course “Your KEY to AEGEE” was organised on the weekend 10 and 11 May, there were about 20 participants, most of them were new members of Prague antenna but some older and more experienced members took part in the course as well. The event took place in VŠE training centre Točná surrounded by nature while being only 1 hour of travel away from the centre of Prague which makes it a great location for such activities.

The program itself began as soon as all the participants arrived. We spent most of the time on Friday afternoon and again on Saturday with Šárka the president of AEGEE-Praha as our instructor learning about different soft skills topics, often in a very interactive way by playing games and doing personality and other self-knowledge tests. A part of the pro...
